I like her art because I think her idea stands out drastically, and to the people that have never seen her work would probably assume that her works are paintings, but they are also photographs. Notable for her portraits of people, with acrylic paint, she was able to find volunteers to paint onto their physical body, and placed in a scene where she would take pictures of them, which can very from all painted to graffiti, to a man walking around a subway.
Her idea had came around with her fascination of shadows, not people, painting, or portraits. She had a desire to pin the shadows where they were, so she painted them black, like the shadows of her fence onto the grass. Then she wanted to paint more. With her friend she discovered painting on 3 dimensional objects was very enticing.
I would like to use her painterly skills, able to create color into a person's skin tone and shadows and lights. It is a combination of paint and real setting and I think pulls it together and I like how she mixes real life with paintings.
