- Artists that have been important to me is Takashi Murakami and Roy Liechtenstein.
- Takashi Murakami was important to me initially because he was a Japanese artist and I liked his work, and overtime I had learned more about his style SuperFlat and conveying his art is pop culture, and not the other way around.
- Roy Liechtenstein has become more important to me as his comic art takes in popular culture, the opposite of Murakami, and adds that pop culture can be its own art.
- I lists this two artists because I myself want to make my art into pop culture, but using a modern comic likeness.
What are your goals this semester?
- My goals for this semester is to continue and improve upon unfinished paintings, and to work on mixed media paintings, because I find these styles to be most attractive to myself, and that it can benefit my theme.
What are you planning to do for your semester-long independent body of work?
- The plan for my body of work is landscapes, (land, sea, or city...), in dystopia or post-apocalypse. I like narratives, and to build a world, and settings would ground my concepts.
- I plan to be mostly using watercolors, and multiple dry media to convey my images.
